Potato Pulusu Popular

1 kg potatoes
2 onions
4 green chillies
4 garlic flakes
Small piece of ginger
Lemon sized tamarind
Bay leaves
2 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cardamoms
Salt, chilli powder and turmeric as required
4 tsp oil
1. Peel potatoes, wash them and cut them into medium size pieces.

2. Chop onions and green chillies long and thinly.

3. Soak tamarind in water.

4. Grind ginger and garlic into paste.

5. Heat oil in a pan and add masala ingredients and then add green chillies and onions. Fry them and add ginger-garlic paste, potato pieces, Salt, chilli powder and turmeric. Stir well add some water and close with lid.

6. When potatoes are cooked add tamarind water and cook for few more minutes and add coriander leaves and remove from heat.
