1 Cup Suji
3 Cups Water
1 onion chopped
2 green chillies chooped
1 tsp Chana dal
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Urad dal
ginger small piece, grated
Few curry leaves
4 tsp Oil
1tsp ghee(optional)
lemon juice

1. Heat oil, add urad dal, chana dal, mustard seeds, cashews and saute until golden brown.
2. Add chopped onions, pinch salt , green chillies,red chillies , ginger , curry leaves and fry until onions turn golden brown
3. Add, required salt, and 2 cups water.
4. When the water starts to boil turn off the stove and add sooji and keep stirring. Make sure there are no lumps formed.
4. Now simmer the upma for 2 minutes until it gets soft and tender and all the water is evaporated.
5. Add lemon juice, ghee and serve hot with sugar, chutney or pickle .

Serves 3.
